So today’s comic is part of ‘Dialogue Free Comics Day’, wherein a bunch of cartoonists try and make a comic without any dialogue. I find it to be a really good exercise, it’s always good to try and tell as much of the story as you can with the pictures, and not rely too heavily on the words. But for some reason I always end up making a huge comic for the occasion…

How do you turn a Canadiens fan into a Bruins fan? Have the Bruins play the Leafs in the playoffs. Sad but true!

So Dad got this huge bank safe at one point, put a bunch of stuff in it, and told everyone where the combination was. Then he died, and now nobody can remember where the combination is. So the question: How do you open one of these safes? It’s a Sargent and Greenleaf lock, and the safe is probably four feet by four feet. I spent a few hours Saturday trying to find the combination, and trying to listen to tumblers fall into place, but it turns out that safe cracking is harder than it sounds…

So great weekend playing hockey! We lost two, but had a miracle comeback to win the third, and we pretty much dominated in the ‘drunkest team’ category. Not that I was much help in that department, I stand in awe of how much some people can drink and still skate. But that pretty much wraps up the season, time to finally air out and wash the equipment, and make plans for trying to stay in shape for the summer. And then not follow through with those plans…

Also have to brag about Christine, not many wives will go shopping and come back with like 15 books of cartoons found at a used book sale! That’s my sweetie! And to cap it off, one of them is a signed book of editorial cartoons by Aislin (aka Terry Mosher), who’s easily my favourite editorial cartoonist! So THAT was pretty sweet…
