And the Crowbar Benson site returns with… a snot joke! Staying classy.
Well, I’m part-way recovered from all the hackery that hit the Crowbar site (and others…) Many thanks to all who wrote, especially Kevin who first alerted me that there was an issue. I had a few problems with the RSS feed through feedburner, but I think that’s resolved now (let me know if it isn’t!) I won’t get a chance til next week to completely restore the site visually, but hopefully it at least works for now.
Please let me know if there are still any issues… thanks again!
Had me worried when I went to relax with some toons last week and Crowbar was off the grid completely.
One issue:
- archives do not load the image when using the calendar as they are referenced
with date-based URLs (http://www.crowbarbenson.com/2012/08/24/)
- the image does load when clicking on the named-based URL provided on that page (http://www.crowbarbenson.com/corn-on-the-cob/)
And perhaps not an issue/maybe a design choice:
- no comments visible/offered on home landing page for the current comic
(though this comment, being the first, may illustrate if this is true or not)
Probably not as worried as I was!
Thanks for pointing out the issue with the archive, I will definitely fix that. I may not get to it straight away, but it will be on the ‘to fix’ list.
The comments settings will also get changed, in fact, I’d like to revamp the comment section a bit. I’m thinking of doing a whole site redesign soon, so any ideas… ?

But, even as a design guy, I can’t help with a whole site because that’s a question with too wide of a scope. It’s even a bit personal: I prefer minimalist/validated sites; others love the busy; still more like browser-enhanced features; a few want to re-invent MySpace. I can’t tell you what’s best because it’s subjective.
Oh, except that you need more Comic Sans.

nope the rss feed link still wont work. I get the permission denied page when I click the link in the email. so yea.. need to still figure that out..or you might have to have every one re-subscribe? I do get the message you type below the cartoon in the email but the link to the cartoon takes me to the permission denied page.
